ICOM SEE representatives Goranka Horjan (Croatia, chair), Tanja Roženbergar (Slovenia, vice-chair) and Biljana Đorđević (Serbia, secretary) proposed during the 4th CHINA-CEEC I&T EXPO’s Forum on safeguarding of the ICH marking the 17th October as International Intangible Heritage Day since it was the day when in 2003 the UNESCO’s CONVENTION FOR THE SAFEGUARDING OF THE INTANGIBLE CULTURAL HERITAGE was adopted in Paris. All participants of the Forum welcomed the proposal and ICOM SEE would like to start with activities to put this initiative into practice.

Therefore, we ask regional institutions and professionals involved in cultural heritage safeguarding to support the initiative by sharing contents regarding intangible cultural heritage with hashtag #OCT17ICH.
