Hanna Pennock appointed as acting director general
Hanna Pennock assumed the position of Acting Director General at ICOM on 13 May, 2013. Her mandate, which will run until the end of 2013, consists in managing ICOM General Secretariat, ensuring the smooth organisation of the General Conference in Rio de Janeiro (August 2013), and maintaining close relations with ICOM partners.
Short Biography
Hanna Pennock worked for 10 years as a researcher, exhibition organiser, coordinator, editor and curator in several Dutch museums, including the Van Gogh Museum, Noordbrabants Museum, Dordrechts Museum and Museum Mesdag. She then worked for 15 years as inspector of state collections, and then became Senior Specialist and Programme Manager Safe Heritage at the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
She has been a member of ICOM and ICMS (International Committee for Museum Security) since 1996 and was a Board member of ICMS from 2004 to 2007. Since 2007, she has been a member of ICOM Executive Council, a position from which she has stepped back in order to take up her role as Acting Director General of ICOM.
